What are propaganda posters?
In a nutshell, propaganda posters where used by the Government and it's departments to change peoples opinions & behavior. Good examples of propaganda posters came from the 'Ministry of Food' who issued posters to change the behavior of people during the wartime shortage of food. Good advice slogans like 'Dig for Victory' promoted the campaign for growing your own vegetables. The posters carried serious messages and offer an insight into 1940's wartime life and it's difficulties.

Why am I selling these posters?
I've always had a personal interest in the 1940's. It started as a child after a visit to Burtonwood Airbase near Warrington and from the stories of the War my Grandmother used to tell me as a child. I was fascinated by the stories of the hard times and how people looked out for each other, the stories of food rationing & how they made the most of very little. I imagined how frightening it must of been to hear the drone of the German bombers flying over my hometown on their way to Liverpool to unleash their deadly cargo of bombs.
These posters carry very serious messages and are a stark reminder of how difficult & dangerous daily life was on the homefront. World War Two is a period in history that must never be forgotten nor those that bravely served and those that paid the ultimate sacrifice. We will always remember them.
